A Fool To Believe

If you really stop and think about it, the things God asks us to believe about Himself and what he has done and will do are quite preposterous.  I mean really, Lord. You expect us to believe that you just said some words and the earth just showed up. Then we are to believe that you took dirt and made a man, with skin, teeth, hair, fingers, etc. Then you operated on him without anesthesia, took one of his ribs and made a woman with a bangin’ body and gave her to him.  We’re supposed to believe that you told a man with no ship building experience to build a boat and he said,’OK”. (mind you, he had to table saws or nail guns and he made some type of glue out of slime that caused the boat to float). Not to mention him getting the animals to line up and march in by twos and sevens….Come On!  We are expected to believe that an old man raised his walking stick and a whole sea divided, walled up and congealed, the ground dried up and three and a half million people walked across it.  Uh huh!  We’re supposed to believe that a virgin got pregnant, absent of a man, and gave birth to a child whose real Daddy lives in heaven.  We worship a God we cannot see, trust in a Savior we’ve never met, and are not afraid of a Holy Ghost!  How ridiculous!!  Naturally, we should all be institutionalized.  But the things of God are not natural. they are spiritual.

1 Corinthians 2:14

Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

When we become born again, it is a spiritual experience, not a natural one. The next step in the journey is to be taught the ways of God and the way this new kingdom we are a apart of operates.  So why did God record all these incredible, impossible events in His-story, the Bible?.  Because if we can open our hearts to believe those things, we can believe Him for anything.  If He can do what the Bible says, is there anything too hard for Him?

So expect non-believers to think your life in Christ is absurd. Heck, they called Jesus crazy too! (Mark 3:21)

  1. We must remember that Gods word tells us that “He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or think” Ephesians 3:20….so uhh yeah duh…it seems crazy to believe in all these unexplainable and impossible things which have occurred. But when we examine the scripture God proves Himself, without even having to. He said that things which we could not even fathom occurred and will occur….look at your past and your present…..who else but God…when we dive into Him we are transformed from the natural to the spiritual. Where nothing is impossible!!! Great post dad!!!
