Necessary Adjustments

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For He beholdeth himself and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” James 1:24-25 KJV

The most often used but ignored item in most households is the mirror. We use it at least once a day. You can tell the mirror is also the most ignored item in the house because of the way some folks look that we meet each day. How many times have you said “now that’s a hot mess!”; referring to some fashion atrocity. How does that happen? It is a result of lying to oneself. Each of us has the opportunity to make the necessary corrections in our lives according to the word of God. But we often times talk ourselves into believing everything’s okay. Or we procrastinate in making the needed corrections in our lives delaying our own progress. Its one thing to not know when you are off course. Its quite another to be fully aware but fail to take the appropriate action. We only fool ourselves when we do that. We certainly are not fooling God. Maybe if we spent enough time in self evaluation we wouldn’t have time to be judgemental of others.
