If you believe the news reports, then the economy is in serious trouble. With unemployment on the rise and the ever looming threat of additional layoffs, the spirit of fear is becoming more evident. However, as believers, we choose not to participate in any recession, depression, or even oppression. Most of us are familiar with Psalms 37, which begins “Fret not thyself because of evil doers…” But I never really paid any attention to verses eighteen and nineteen until my pastor brought it to our attention last Sunday.
“The Lord knoweth the days of the upright; and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”
This passage speaks to our spirit letting us know that the inheritance God has promised us is unending, and not based on any local economy. I know he’s speaking of material substance here, because he clarifies the statement by saying even when there’s a shortage everywhere else, my children will be satisfied. The Living Bible states “…they will have enough.” We must believe that God will take care of us and supply us with more than enough so we then become a distribution center for him through which we can bless others. Mark 9:23 tells us if we can believe, all things are possible to he who believes. To believe God means to zero out, or reduce to a value of zero, everything contrary to the Word of God. It means to pay no attention to it. It doesn’t mean to ignore the situation, it means to refuse to fear in that circumstance because of what we know. They that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32) If we pay no attention to the news reports of doom and gloom; pay no attention to the lack that shows up (temporarily); pay no attention to negative events in the world’s economy; and just trust God, following his commandments and precepts, no thing is impossible for us..

Really good post, just ran across it today!Yes God is faithful and we need not fear for in such times as these God has us wraped tight, even ready to release our hidden riches, and those riches of the wicked God has promised! Hallelujah,Praise God he is so good to use,as he said to me: When you’ve heard from me consider “Nothing” satan has to say! He’s nothing but a liar, and so is this world system.
