Angels At Work

People are fascinated with angels. There are portrayed in pictures and figurines all over the world. Usually they are depicted as the photographer or artists sees them in their mind. Often times, however, angels are misrepresented as soft meek little beings.  You’ve seen the little cute baby angels with wings sitting on the mantle. The truth is, angels are majestic strong beings.  If you could talk to someone who has claimed to see an angel whether in a vision or dream, almost without fail, their account would be of a large being, exhibiting strength and power. Even in the Bible, when the Angel of the Lord appeared to someone, what were the first words spoken?  “Fear Not! ”  Somehow that image does not equate to a baby with wings.

Psalms 103:20 states that angels excel in strength. That means they have more than enough power to get the job done, whatever it may be. But they only work under certain conditions. The verse goes on to say that they hearken to the voice of his word. Whose word? –The Lord’s. Angels only respond to the voice of the word of God. That’s why it’s imperative for us to speak “the word only”.  I believe each of us have angels assigned to us. According to Hebrews 1: 14 they are sent for the purpose of ministering to the believer. Unfortunately many of our assigned angels spend a lot of time with nothing to do because we fail to give voice to the word of God. For example, the word say that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. In order for me to make available the power of healing  and perpetual health in my life,  I must say with my mouth that by his stripes I am healed. I must keep this word in my mouth continuously whether the symptoms have dissipated or not.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)

The only way for God’s word to return to him is when it is spoken out of our mouths. It is the word that makes the power available. Let’s not get it twisted though. This is not some sort of magic pill that just because you say something, whola, there it is. Your faith filled confessions must be accompanied by correct corresponding action. For example, if you are a diabetic and begin confessing healing in that area, don’t stop taking your medication and doing the “natural” things like watching your diet, etc. God cannot attach himself to foolishness. Continue to put the word on that issue until your body(your flesh) lines up the what God has already said. That’s called working the word.  Remember, angels go to work and respond to God’s word and it must accomplish that which it was set out to perform. God’s name is on the line, so he is obligated to make his word good.
